Local Cannabis Regulation: What have we learned from tobacco
Project Director(s)Lynn Silver
This project is studying the laws regulating marijuana of all 540 California cities and counties in 2018 and 2019 , the first two years after commerce of adult-use marijuana became legal in California. We are looking at the extent to which key lessons from tobacco control have been incorporating, including limiting the density of outlets, proximity to schools, regulation of particularly harmful products or products attractive to youth, health warnings, regulation of marketing and prices, and taxation.
