Turning great ideas into healthier communities

HERO Expert Panel on Healthy People 2030

December 05, 2019

Healthy People 2030 is on its fifth decade of development to create a set of national objectives for healthy people. This decade, the goal is to have Healthy People objectives adopted broadly: not just by technical and public health individuals, but also the community at large.

PHI’s Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mary A. Pittman is on the Secretary’s Advisory Committee on National Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Objectives for 2030, and joined the Hero Expert Panel on Healthy People 2030 to discuss the next steps in the evolution of Healthy People 2030. One goal? To take into account how people think and function on an individual and social level, focusing not just on health alone, but also well-being.

Dr. Pittman plans to use innovative tactics to increase the awareness of the Healthy People 2030 objectives, and in the video below emphasizes the importance of implementing these objectives in a valid, relevant, and fun way to make them accessible for all age groups.
