PHI congratulates Genoveva Islas-Hooker, a leader in efforts to create healthier communities in the state's Central Valley, on her appointment today to the board of directors of the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley.

Islas-Hooker, director of PHI’s Central California Regional Obesity Prevention Program since 2006, is PHI’s new coordinator for the Community Transformation Project, which is working to turn local and county efforts by Community Transformation Grant recipients to improve community health into a sustainable statewide movement.
