Community Transformation Comes to Solano County

Encouraging more students to walk to school and creating safe routes for them, programs for tobacco free living, and chronic health issues management are developing in Solano County as a result of funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Known as Community Transformation Grants, the federal funding is part of the Affordable Care Act (national healthcare reform). It is giving millions of dollars to distressed communities nationwide to help address health disparities and reduce chronic diseases by promoting healthy living and tackling the social and economic causes of poor health.
