Magaña Honored with Hispanics in Philanthropy Giver Award
January 22, 2015
Tomás Magaña, MD, founding director of PHI's FACES for the Future Coalition, has been named a 2015 HIP Giver by the organization Hispanics in Philanthropy. The honor is given to "living examples of generosity, kindness and entrepreneurial spirit that binds together our families, our communities and the Americas." He and other recipients will be honored February 27 at the Celebrate Giving, Strengthen Latino Leadership conference and gala in San Francisco.
FACES is building a more diverse health workforce that reflects California's diverse communities. The program prepares at-risk high school students for entry into college and health care professions in a comprehensive, multi-year program that focuses on the well-being of the whole child.
