Dr. Raissa Sorgho is the Director of Global Health, Nutrition and Partnerships at the Public Health Institute’s Center for Wellness and Nutrition (PHI CWN) and Roots of Change (PHI ROC). She is a global health specialist with over 15 years of progressive leadership in development, consultancy, and research. Her expertise spans from health to climate change and policy, with an emphasis on evidence-based decision making. As a principal investigator at the Public Health Institute, she leads the design, development and execution of global health, nutrition and climate programs while leading client development and managing a growing network of partners.
Dr. Sorgho works extensively on strategy building, program alignment, systems strengthening, behavior change communication and sustainability in the global non-profit and private sector spaces. She has lived and work a decade in sub-Saharan Africa, a decade in Europe and in the United States.
Dr. Sorgho has authored 10+ peer-reviewed publications and drafted national legislations. She has presented her work and chaired prestigious conferences such as the World Health Summit and the Conference of Parties. She maintains her affiliation as a lecturer at the Center for Development Research and an analyst at Johns Hopkins University, while also serving as an expert consultant for the United States Agency for International Development and the World Health Organization.
Dr. Sorgho earned her undergraduate degree from Bucknell University (USA) and holds a Master of Public Health and a Doctorate in Global Health from Heidelberg University (Germany).
