State of Equity
PHI’s State of Equity is building its second Capitol Collaborative on Race and Equity (CCORE) Transformative Leadership Cohort (TLC), a leadership development cohort that specifically centers the learning and growth of Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) racial equity practitioners who either work in California state government or in community-based organizations.
The application deadline for CCORE TLC has been extended to Monday, January 27, 2025, and the cohort start date will remain the same on February 13, 2025.
Apply
Over the course of 7-months, BIPOC participants from a diverse array of organizations will come together in a cohort for a comprehensive learning and peer-exchange experience that supports their individual growth as well as their capacity to advance racial equity in their own lives and institutions.
Fees
Several people have indicated interest in participation but are unable to secure employer support to cover the registration fee. The State of Equity team doesn’t want cost to be a barrier to participation, so we are now offering a sliding scale. Please apply and indicate your ability to pay in the application.
For more information
Our CCORE Co-Leads can set up time with you in the new year to answer questions or help you mobilize organizational support for your participation. Let us know if this is a need when you apply.
Impact Story: Creating Space for BIPOC Racial Equity Practitioners to Share Experiences, Deepen Skills and Transform Workplaces for Equity
In 2024, PHI’s State of Equity’s inaugural Transformative Leadership Cohort (TLC) provided government and community-based workers with the opportunity to reflect on their growth as racial equity practitioners and have deep learnings and dialogue about power, organizing, and ways that internalized oppression shows up in our work.
