September, 2024— Oakland, Calif: The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) named Public Health Institute (PHI) as one of 48 recipients included in the National Partners Cooperative Agreement. The Cooperative Agreement awards $176 million spread across national organizations over the next five years (August 2024 to July 2029) to strengthen the U.S. public health system and improve and protect the nation’s health.

The program aims to increase knowledge, skill, and ability of the public health workforce to deliver essential public health services, as well as improve organizational and systems capacity to address equity-based public health challenges and advance the nation’s public health infrastructure and performance.
