Tool: Tracking California Traffic

PHI’s Tracking California’s Traffic tool can be used to quickly quantify and visualize traffic volumes for any address in California. Using 2019 data the Tool provides information such as Daily and Annual Vehicle Miles Travelled estimates and Annual Average Daily Traffic statistics for a given buffer distance around the address.

PHI’s Tracking California’s Traffic tool allows users to search for and query estimated traffic volume across the state for the year 2019. Within the tool, users can search for a location to calculate traffic volumes within 1000 meters of the selected location.

The tool provides data such as Daily and Annual Vehicle Miles Travelled (DVMT, AVMT) estimates and Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) statistics for a given buffer distance around the address.

Use the Traffic Tool to explore and query estimated traffic volumes across the state. The tool provides traffic volume estimates for 2019. Users can explore traffic volumes in a specified area and calculate and compare traffic volumes for multiple locations and varying buffer sizes.

The three main components of the tool are displayed as tabs on the top right of the screen:

  • Explore: Search, zoom and pan around aggregated traffic volumes across the state.
  • Query: Search for a location and calculate traffic volumes within 100-1,000 meters of the selected location. Query results can be added to the Table tab.
  • Table: View and edit your query results table as well as download your results as a report or spreadsheet.
