Women’s health is a human right; yet, for many refugee women, reproductive healthcare remains overlooked and inaccessible. Stigma, misinformation, and systemic barriers are challenges to refugee women’s health.
In honor of Women’s History Month, PHI’s Center for Immigrant and Refugee Health brought together reproductive health experts Dr. Heike Thiel de Bocanegra, Dr. Ahmad Fahim Pirzada, and Asiya Yama. They shared practical strategies for empowering refugee women with reproductive health literacy and breaking down barriers in clinical, school, and community spaces.
